Have driven passed many times as live locally, only stopped on a whim to see the kingsmen stones, did not visit the rest of the site, only cost £2 to enter & walked the dog with me, amazing to see & touch the stones, they are seriously old & mysterious, loved it

The Rollright Stones are a hauntingly beautiful portal to the past! 🗿✨ Nestled in the peaceful Oxfordshire countryside, this trio of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments—the King’s Men, the Whispering Knights, and the King Stone—feels like stepping into a myth. The atmosphere here is quietly powerful, perfect for history buffs, nature lovers, or anyone craving a moment of quiet wonder.

Beautiful site, well maintained, good historical and contextual information available too. You can pay the small entry fee with cash in an honesty box or online. Well worth a visit.

If you kike looking at neolithic stones, these are for you! Set amongst beautiful scenery, they're well worth a visit. Plenty of walks nearby too. You can visit for free, but you shouldn't. Tickets are only £2 each and helps with the upkeep of the monuments

Wonderful and definitely worth a visit, I didn't get to make a wish as on the 3rd count there was a different amount!

Visited the Whispering Knights and Rollright Stones, and what an unforgettable experience! This ancient site is both enchanting and eerie. The main stone circle is magical—I tried counting the stones three times to make a wish, but each count was different, adding to the mystery. Nearby, there’s a fallen tree covered in ribbons and offerings, said to be connected to a witch legend. We left our own mementos here, which felt deeply meaningful, especially when a robin appeared out of nowhere, almost like a sign from loved ones. However, things took a spooky turn in the woodland labyrinth. The deeper we walked, the more intense and unsettling the atmosphere became. My partner felt dizzy, and whispers seemed to follow us, warning us away. It was scary but thrilling—an experience that stays with you. Overall, if you’re up for an adventure filled with history, wonder, and a bit of spine-chilling excitement, this is the place to visit. Just trust your instincts if things get too intense!

The site of the Rollright Stones is quite remarkable. That these stones have stood for so long is amazing. The story goes that if you count them, you will not get the same number second time around! The paths are good and you can go for a longer circular walk which is what we did. A little further on you come to the Whispering Knights which is thought to be an ancient burial chamber. Parking is right beside the main road and there is not a great deal of space.

Megalithic monuments which provide an eerie setting for the imagination to conjure reasons for their placement. The legend of a witch turning a king and his men to stone is interesting. With mist swirling, and rain falling, these stones evoke many questions about time and place and intent. We enjoyed the fresh air and the walk between the three collections of stones- we cannot help but wonder what they were used for and who built these clusters?

I went there today, parked my car and went outside for 5 min, when I returned my car’s passenger window was Broken and my laptop along with my bags ware stolen. Such a horrible day for me so please be carefully when you go there and don’t leave any valuable things in your car.

Magical Sunrise at The Rollright Stones & Whispering Knight We visited The Rollright Stones and Whispering Knight at sunrise, and it was a truly magical experience. With no one else around, we could fully appreciate the peaceful and mystical energy of the site. It’s dog-friendly, and while I’ve visited before when it was much busier—taking away some of the tranquility—this early morning visit was blissfully serene. There’s free parking, though it’s more of a layby, and they suggest a donation to help maintain the area. At busier times, there are little stalls selling handcrafted items, and I’ve even seen yoga sessions inside the stone circle, which adds to the unique atmosphere. However, during the Christmas holidays, it was wonderfully quiet. A beautiful place for reflection, but be aware there are no toilet facilities. Would highly recommend visiting at quieter times to fully soak in the magic!
